Current Favourite Books!

Hi lovelies,

I have been getting back into reading lately and I'm always looking for inspiration so I thought I'd do a post on my current favourite books! I've just picked three for the moment and they're all books I've finished!

The Bone Collector - Jeffery Deaver

This one is actually a older book but it is part of a series and this is the original book. Lots of blood  and gore and amazing twists in the plot, this book keeps you on the edge of your seat constantly and makes you fall in love with a host of unloveable characters. If you enjoy your CSI, NCIS then this is for you! Plus I love a good series to keep me going!

Silver Linings Playbook

Not afraid to say this was an emotional journey for me, and I cried at the end. A journey through the mind of two seemingly ordinary characters suffering from mental illness and a deep loss. This author cuts close to the bone with the reality of mental illness and how it affects those around it. By the end of this book you are emersed in this characters world, and willing for a silver lining ending. If you enjoyed the perks of being a wallflower, emotive language and/or books that take a realistic approach to mental illness, then this is for you.

Love Virtually

Just finished this one and immediately had to buy the follow-up! Interesting format of writing in the form of emails (so if you didn't like the letter style in perks of being a wallflower you probably won't enjoy this!) This book follows two people who meet by chance on the internet. Heart stopping ending, Not to be missed. Easy to read and great for commuting reading due to format. You will like this if you enjoyed the format of perks and/or enjoy chick lit with a twist.

As a side note I would like to add that both the bone collector and silver linings playbook have been made into a film. I will review SLP at some point on the blog but what I will say is it is NOT anything like the book. Additionally, I could not watch the bone collector because it ruined one of my beloved books for me, had to turn it off half way through boyfriend thought I was crazy!

Have you read any of these books? What did you think? Got any recommedations for me? Please let me know below!

Mwah!

  1. That's three books I can put on my reading list! I too can't stand it when they change the plot from book to movie. I can wholly recommend "Let's Pretend this never Happened" by Jenny Lawson, aka @theBloggess xx

  3. Haven't read any of these - I've favourited the post so I can check them out! I didn't realise that what was SLP was about (though I suppose if you say the film is different from the book then that would be why... And I'm basing my judgement on a trailer!). Xo
