The Buddy Box - The Monthly Subscription Box for Self Care and Mental Wellbeing!

Ola lovelies,

Today I want to share with you a fantastic (relatively) new subscription box: The Buddy Box! The Buddy box aims to improve mental wellbeing for those with mental and physical health problems. However, this box would be fantastic for absolutely anyone who enjoys relaxing, crafting and/or fantastic cups of tea!

I think we all understand the importance of self care at this point. You can't swing a (cuddly toy) cat these days without being exposed to mindfulness apps and therapeutic colouring books which I think shows that we are now embracing looking after our mental health.

The Blurt Foundation created this box, and it is a charity is very near and dear to my heart. I have been volunteering for the organisation now for over four years. I have come to know and adore it's fearless leader Jayne, and I was not at all surprised when she found a way to combine mental health care and the popular subscription boxes. I have been receiving the boxes since they began (as a wonderful thanks for my service at the organisation) and I have been increasingly impressed with the arrival of each and every box!

But I'm sure what you really want to see is the contents!

Well, without further ado, here is this month's (October) Buddy Box!

Contents:

Thabto Moustache Fridge Magnets
Clipper Organic Indian Chai Tea
Paddywax Apothecary Verbena & Eucalyptus Candle (this smells AMAZING!)
Tisserand Aromatherapy Winter Warming Vaporising (this smells even better!)
Ridley's Games Room The Name Game Quiz

While there is always slight variations (flavour of tea, scent of candle, type of candle etc) each box has very similar content, meaning you're never left feeling left out (not like some subscription boxes I've had in my time!). Also, each month, Jayne does a break down of the contents, and which highlights the massive value for money you're getting!

I thought this months box was particularly excellent, especially the Ridley's Games Room. Andrew and I love playing games like Heads Up and Trivial Pursuit to make us laugh, so we immediately delved into this! (Don't you just love the cute packaging too?!)

I also popped round the house and have taken a snap of some of my favourite items that I received (not pictured is the Toblerone I devoured - surprise chocolate is the best is it not?!, the energy roller ball I keep in my bag for trying times, the adorable cactus notebook I keep in my bag for my forgetfulness, the scented home bag that hangs in my living room and the awesome lettuce (yes you heard right) soap that my fiancé has claimed ownership of...);

If you or someone you know is struggling right now, I'd highly recommend ordering a box to put a smile on your/their face. While "stuff" can never replace medication and therapy, you never know what a difference it can make.

The Buddy Box subscription start at £18.50 per month, and you can order a one-off box for yourself or a friend for £21.50!

What would be your perfect self care box look like? Let me know below!

As an added note to this, if you are struggling with your mental health, please feel free to come and join us in the Blurt Facebook Peer Support group!
