Book & a Brew Unboxing! [August 2016]

Hello lovelies,

Y'all know I love a good subscription box, and I like even more to share the contents of those with you.

Back in August, I decided it was time to finally get a bookish subscription box. It seem like a logical step, and I was hoping it would help me curb my book buying again after a few months of buying every book in sight.

Unfortunately in the UK there aren't that many choices, but I was delighted to stumble upon A Book and a Brew

Aptly titled, this service sends you a box once a month containing a hardback book, and a specialty tea to enjoy with it for just £12.99 a month.

I was super excited when my book arrived, everything came really beautifully packaged, when I opened the box I was greeted with...

All Together Now is about a small town affected by the recession, can the local community choir save the day and bring residents together? Only time will tell.

I love how the book and the tea went together aesthetically, as well as having other connections (such as lemon tea being good for throats and the book being about singing, and the fact that the tea is Welsh and the book is based in Wales.)

I was delighted that I hadn't heard of the book before, and even more delighted that it was a beautiful hardback (I couldn't remember whether it was guaranteed to be a hardback or not).

The book choice was also particularly timely - I had just joined a choir and was due to go the week after the box arrived!

I am really pleased with this subscription box and I will definitely be continuing. It's obvious how much thought is put into curating the boxes, and receiving a beautiful hardback book will come in really handy when I go on my book buying bans! I rarely buying hardbacks (I tend to get them as gifts) as paperbacks as just so much cheaper, so it's a real treat for me!

I've already tried the tea which was lovely. I'm very wary of ginger because usually they're usually too strong, but this was just right.

I think this would make a fantastic birthday or Christmas present for a loved one who loves books - they even offer a one-off box for £14.99.

Overall, this is a great subscription box and one I really look forward to receiving each month. It's not the box that you buy for the savings (which probably do still work out to at least a few quid!) but one that makes you smile when it's arrives, and you look forward to when you think of it!

Have you tried Book and a Brew? What did you think? Let me know below. Oh also, if you've read All Together Now, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
