Hello lovelies,

I'm super excited because I have decided to take part in this years Spookathon (which has been created by Books and LalaPaige's Pages and Bookerly).

Y'all know that I love me some spooky October reads, so I'm really looking forward to this one! Hopefully, I'll actually have some success this time round after a fair few readathon failures this year *hangs head in bookish shame*.

If you would like to join in with the Spookathon (yay, please do!), this is all the information you need;

The Spookathon runs from tomorrow (October 17th) until the 23rd and there are 5 challenges;
  1. Read a thriller
  2. Read a 2016 release
  3. Read a book with red on the cover
  4. Read a book with a spooky word in the title
  5. Read a book with a creature
I have chosen 4 books which cover all of the challenges, and I've also looked out all my related books so I can add or switch up my TBR if need be!

The books I have chosen to meet all these challenges are:

Nailbiter Volume 1 by Joshua Williamson (thriller, red on the cover)

This series is about a bunch of serial killers that are all coming from the same town. That's as much as I know and as much as I want to know. I have wanted to read this series for a long time, but I was worried it might be too gruesome, so October and the Spookathon seems like the best time to give it a go!

Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier (2016 release, spooky word in the title, book with a creature)

I love Raina Telgemeier books so I had this on pre-order. I'm pretty sure this is more about spiritual ghosts than scary ghosts, but I thought between that and the fact that this is a middle grade book, it would break up all the creepiness. Plus who doesn't love a graphic novel to speed up a readathon?

This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab (2016 release, book with a creature, red on the cover)

V. E. Schwab is one of my favourite writers, so I've been looking forward to this one. This is a story about monsters vs. humans without any romance and I'm intrigued to see how this plays out.
My only concern is that most people I know who have read this say that the first half is slow which is not always ideal for a readathon!

The Bones of You by Debbie Howells (thriller, spooky word in the title, red on the cover)

I know nothing about this apart from that it is a thriller, with a relatively good score on goodreads. I picked this up on one of my many charity shop book buying binges so it'd be nice if it turned out to a good 'un, but ultimately it won't bother me too much if it's just so-so.

I'm really excited about reading all of these, so I can't wait to get started! If you've read any of them, let me know what you think, or where you think I should start!

If you'd like to join in, check out the Spookathon Twitter  and use the hashtag: #spookathon! Also check out the Spookathon Youtube Playlist for all the videos related to the readathon!

Are you joining in the Spookathon? Leave your links below so I can keep up to date! If you're not, let me know if you've read any of the books mentioned above, and tell me which one to start with!
