Christmas Reads! [12 Days of Blogmas]

Hello lovelies,

It's day 2 of 12 Days of Blogmas and today I want to tell you all about the books I'm reading this festive season.

Last year I bought a few Christmas books and never read any, so this year I'm determined to get a least a few under my belt (even if I am having a terrible time concentrating right now!)

I am actually almost finished My True Love Gave to Me as edited by Stephanie Perkins, it's diverse YA romance short story collection centering around the holidays. I've found it perfectly sweet and I love that it's diverse with both POC and LGBTQ+ main characters featuring, so I'm really glad I picked it up even if I did prefer the summer version (Summer Days and Summer Nights) and I've found the stories a little forgettable.

I've also started Another Little Christmas Murder by Lorna Nicholl Morgan which is a classic murder mystery tale. Our main female character gets stuck in the snow in the middle of nowhere and is rescued by a man who invites her to visit his family's estate with him, and then what do you know, a man dies...or is it murder? I'm not too far in, but so far I'm finding it utterly charming and can't wait to read more!

Mystery in White by J Jefferson Farjeon, follows a similar vein, instead it begins with a stuck train, but is essentially a similar story. This is one I'm not too certain whether I want to read it or not, if you'd read it let me know what you think of it!

A Snow Garden by Rachel Joyce is an adult contemporary short story collection based around the holidy period, similar to My True Love Gave to Me. I picked this up after seeing the lovely Elena talk about it during her Boolish Advent Calendar videos.

Lastly, I have two books from beloved series constantly talked about on booktube that I think are perfectly suited for Christmas time; The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making (Fairyland book 1) by Catherynne M. Valente and His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman. These are both beloved children's fantasy series that I've yet to read, and I want to at least have read the first book in the beautiful bind up edition of His Dark Materials by the end of the year!

I'm really excited to read all of these, do you lovelies like to Christmassy fiction at this time or year, or do you tend to avoid anything Christmassy at all costs? Let me know what you're reading now down below!
