The Christmas Tag! [12 Days of Blogmas!]

Hello lovelies,

I'm feeling even worse today than yesterday (shame it's not stronger eh? oops there goes me revealing my secret love for Britney...) so I wanted to do an easier post today, and why not a Christmas Tag?

I did a Christmas tag last year but this one is slightly different, and I'm not going to look at last year's answers so for the same questions, the answers might be a little different!

This tag is quite a bit older now, but it was taken from the lovely Enthusiast Blog so be sure to check out the original post!

1. What is your favourite Christmas film?

I have a few favourites, I love Home Alone (1 and 2) obviously, Die Hard, Frozen (even though yeah, yeah, yeah it's not a Christmas film). The Holiday is my all time favourite rom-com that I watch every year - which reminds me I haven't watched it yet this year *adds to to-do list*. I also really enjoyed Office Christmas Party this year!

Fun fact! I used to have an aversion to Christmas films when I was younger because I have a December birthday so whenever I wanted to go the cinema on my birthday I was stuck with Christmas films and it always annoyed me.

Fun fact number 2! I can't stand Elf, I refuse to watch it.

2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?

Yes, living in Scotland it's really not that rare, Happened a lot more often when I was younger though.

3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?

Wherever my family and my husband's family is, usually at the family homes.

4. What is your favourite Christmas song?

Not unlike the film question I'm quite predicable, I love Fairy Tale of New York (is there anyone who doesn't?!), It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree (mainly because of Home Alone) and Jingle Bell Rock but mostly for this spectacular version...

Fun fact number 3! I hate Mistletoe and Wine - I can't stand Cliff Richard and I hate that it was number 1 when I was born.

5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

I was never allowed to open presents on Christmas Eve when I was younger, but since my husband and I moved in together, we always open our presents to each other on Christmas Eve (we try to wait to midnight!) because otherwise it's just far too rushed on the day as we usually have at least two houses sometimes three to visit, and we like a lie in! We also take our bunny baby with us which is what takes up most of Christmas morning!

6. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

I have always been absolutely rubbish at this. Prancer? Vixen (I remember this one as I feel like we many have things in common...)? Dasher? Blitzer? Yeah no, that's all I got.

7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

On Christmas Eve we always have a friends lunch which I like, usually we have to travel back to the next town over but this year I don't, so I'm looking forward to it even more this year!

I also love swapping Christmas Eve boxes with my husband, which I'll be doing a post on super soon!

8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Fake, our house is nowhere near big enough for a real tree. My sister had one in her house when I was younger, and the absolute mess it made put me off forever anyway, to be honest!

9. What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?

This is so sad, but this answer will never change, I love all the different kind of potato on Christmas Day. I freaking love potato man, and the Christmas Day choices are endless. I'm pretty fussy, and was even worse when I was younger so I would often just have a plate of different kinds of potato on the day. It was wonderful.

10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?

I obviously love getting presents, but I also love giving them. Especially when you give that perfect gift and you totally take them by surprise and you know they love it? Nothing beats that feeling!

11. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

So I actually have the worst memory when it comes to childhood Christmas presents. I know I got absolutely loads and was totally spoiled but I very rarely remember specifics. Particularly because my birthday and Christmas are about 2 weeks apart, I find it really hard to differentiate between the presents I got for one and the other.

One year though I got this amazing Spice Girls Polaroid camera which I LOVED. even though it was actually just a normal polaroid with Spice Girl stickers.

Also, one year one of my sisters got me one of those books where you're the main character, and because I've got an unusual name I'd never seen my name in a book before (still haven't) so I adored that.

12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

I would love to visit New York for Christmas. I've always wanted to go, but I'd LOVE to see it at Christmas. I'd also love to spend Christmas with my family at a log cabin in the middle of nowhere, I think that'd be pretty cool.

13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I used to be a total pro, but I think I've lost my mojo!

14. Most memorable Holiday moment?

Again, I have a shit memory, so I totally fail at this but one year when I was younger my brother-in-law was winding me up at the table when I was reaching for the something, and I managed to spill everyone's drinks from my side of the table, all the way along the table, it legit went the full length and breadth of our massive dining room table!

15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?

OK so my memory clearly wasn't made for a Christmas tag! I have no idea, I know I was a late bloomer in that regard, and I'm pretty sure it was someone at school.

What I do remember is that I worked out that I got a present for Santa and one from my parents, so I pretended I believed in Santa for ages so I'd get two "big" presents (not being smart enough to work out my parents would clearly spend the same money, they just split it between the two gifts...).

16. Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?

I always do, and I very rarely stick to them. Over the last few years I've tried to make them more realistic and broad, and I think that's really helped me be more successful.

17. What makes the holidays special for you?

Spending time with my family, together. I know it's such a generic answer, but my sisters all have their own families now, so it's pretty rare that we're all together at the same time.

I also just love all the pretty decorations everywhere, and Christmas markets!

I hope you enjoyed this tag, if you do it, link me up below, I love reading Christmas Tags!

Until tomorrow...
